Capt. Joseph H Bennett, Morton, TX, 61st Fighter Squadron. P-47D 42-8396 HV-B “Lucky”. Lucky is seen here in a not so lucky condition, but much later in its service life. Now classified as “war weary”, this landing accident happened on 2 February 1945 with F/O William H Carrington of the 62nd FS at the controls.
